Women in Law and in the general population are leading seismic changes in 2017 and 2018. Collaborative Law is shifting the way negotiation is handled in divorce and other areas of the law. Interest-based negotiation has been heralded by The Program on Negotiation at Harvard for years, as being a win-win process rather than the zero-sum game of litigation and traditional positional negotiation. With books such as ‘Getting to Yes’ and ‘The Power of a Positive No’ thousands have now been trained in a negotiation theory that enables everyone in the negotiation to have a better outcome. In Collaborative Divorce, couples and families are now experiencing results that do not devastate the family relationships or the family estate and in fact, help the couple or the family unit to begin the healing process long before their case is concluded. Join us for a discussion on the evolution of the Collaborative Process and how Interest-Based Negotiation can be used in every aspect of the law (even in the courtroom at times).
