Why Use a Collaborative Divorce Houston (CDH) Member?

In order to be a part of Collaborative Divorce Houston, each professional must have met minimum standards of training and also be a member of Collaborative Divorce Texas. Collaborative Divorce Texas is a Texas non-profit corporation dedicated to public education, assisting collaborative professionals in maintaining the highest level of training, experience and methods of practice and providing pro bono Collaborative Divorce services to poor and low income consumers.

Although any licensed attorney in Texas has a license to practice law and may handle Collaborative Divorce cases, the process is not easy and involves a huge shift in thinking, communication and practice to make it work.

If you or your spouse hires an untrained and inexperienced Collaborative Divorce attorney, the result will be subpar at best and, at worst, will leave you dissatisfied and disheartened. You and your spouse may choose to abort the Collaborative Divorce process altogether and pursue adversarial litigation. Adversarial litigation will further damage your relationship and further deplete your pocketbooks.
